Construction

Over the years, God has truly blessed Haiti Endowment, the Haitian people and our volunteers, through the building projects. We are now completing the “bush church,” in the village of Bonabite. This is the seventeenth new church built through Haiti Endowment. God has miraculously provided the funds and workers for these projects. Each new church costs about $18,000 to complete. All of the building materials, except the sand, must be brought into central Haiti by truck. Bad roads, thieves, political unrest and poor weather, jeopardize the delivery of each load of materials. Once the materials have been brought to the compound in Hinche, they are broken down into smaller loads. These smaller loads are then brought to the location of the rural villages. Most of these roads are only accessible by four-wheel drive vehicles. Now, the real work starts. Each building block must be hand made, on site. All the sand and water must be carried in from the nearest stream or river. The metal trusses and roofing materials are prepared and brought from the compound in Hinche. When each new church building has been completed, it will soon double as the only school available to the children of the area. This ministry has only been possible through the faithfulness of the Lord and his people.

In addition to the “bush churches,” Haiti Endowment has made very good use of the land God has provided in Hinche. This location is Haiti Endowment’s home base. All of the ministries provided to central Haiti, emanate from this location.  During the past tewnty years, the usefulness of the compound has grown with the increase of the ministry. During the past two years, a medical clinic and a two-story dorm have also been built. These new buildings have greatly increased the ministries ability to reach out even further to meet the needs of the Haitian people.

As God leads and provides, additional “bush churches” will be added.
