Earthquake Updates
January 25, 2010
Just received a current report on what our Medical teams are doing in Hinche Haiti. We have 1 Medical team working from our compound.  The hospital is only 1 mile away and they are filled  and lined up by the dozens awaiting surgeries.  We are now using our medical clinic at the compound to see patients. Our Dr's are all very busy.  They are telling us that we will need medical help for months.

Praise the Lord we have located our lost supplies.  They will arrive on Tuesday.  Please keep the teams, supplies, and all the wounded people in your prayers. We need wisdom and help from the Lord.

Here is our verse for today:
"Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the
Lords purpose that prevails." Prov. 19:21

Hi!

Taking a minute to respond.  We all have a sincere appreciation for "the old days".... LAX/Miami....Miami/PAP.  We miss MAF!  3 days to get to compound was exhausting, but we are not discouraged.  Everybody's hearts are humbled and just so grateful to be here.  We are praying for team #2 and that they can FINALLY get on the road tomorrow and make it "home".  PRAY that the rest of our tubs will arrive from Ft. Lauderdale.  ("Cooks" - out of 15-16 food tubs, 3 made it here ) ={
So many people broken by this massive tragedy - too many stories to tell.

Please make sure Heather, Andrew & Brittany know that we are safe and just keeping busy.

We KNOW you all are praying......there is such a peace upon the hearts of our team.  "There's a sweet, sweet Spirit in this place.  And I know that it's the Spirit of the Lord....."

Hello everyone,

I wanted to get a quick email out about the earthquake and our situation.

All MAF US staff are fine.  One of our Haitian staff was killed and
another
has not been heard from.  The Lord really protected our family.  There
were
a number of things we saw His hand in keeping us safe.

Yesterday Julie and the kids along with the rest of the MAF families were
able to leave on a flight to Florida.  Myself and 4 other MAF US staff
stayed for the relief effort.  We have limited supplies but have enough
for
a couple of weeks.

I will be flying mission teams that are stuck in the countryside out to
strips along the Dominican border so they can leave from there.  Port au
Prince airport is crazy right now with military aircraft having priority.
We are also helping World Vision and Samaritan's Purse in their efforts to
bring in relief supplies.

As of yesterday, the people in PAP were calm but with no food, water or
supplies available things can get bad really fast.  There were reports of
looting starting downtown by armed mobs.

They are starting to pick up the dead bodies along the road with front end
loaders and dump trucks.  There is not way of identifying them so they are
being dumped in mass graves north of town.

Attached are some pictures we took while driving to the airport.  The one
with the shopping cards is Caribbean Supermarket.  That is were Julie
shops
all the time.  The store collapsed killing a lot of people inside.  Julie
and the kids could have easily been there as she goes there in the
afternoon
often.  We had become friends with several of the people there.

Sorry this is so short but I need to leave for the airport shortly.

Prayer requests:
Safety for MAF staff still in Haiti working in relief efforts
For Haiti and the people as they deal with all the death and devastation.
That Christ will use this to further his kingdom Haiti and we will have
wisdom in ministering to the people here.
Julie and the kids as they travel on Sunday to NE.  They need to purchase
warm clothes.

Thanks for your prayers and support of our ministry here in Haiti.

Will
